Mamba Out

Deaths like Kobe and Gianna Bryant jolt us into the reality that life happens unexpectedly. It seems unreal that Kobe has passed away, and there are no words for moments like these. Death can be numbing. Death can be shocking. Death can be sickening. Even though we may not have known Kobe personally, it can still be difficult to process the wide array of emotions we are experiencing. Even though we may not always feel it, God is always with us giving us comfort, strength and hope.

“Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4 NIV)

“God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 NIV)

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted

and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18 NIV)

In this time of loss, let us remember that no day is promised. Let us give all we have each day to God, to our families and to our purpose. Praying for comfort and peace that transcends all understanding for the families that have lost loved ones and for us who have lost an icon.
