Happy New Year!

The year 2021 is almost here! Whether you’re rejoicing with excitement at the thought of a new year or overwhelmed with fear at what the year will bring, remember God’s will is better than anything we could ever imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

In 2021, I’m resolving to trust God’s will completely for my life. If 2020 taught me anything it’s that anything can happen. If we’re not anchored in our faith, our emotions, decisions and habits will be tossed all over the place like flowers without roots.

“‘Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.’” (Matthew 7:24-27 NIV)

Even if 2021 is a year of pain, joy, or a mixture of it all, God will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). In the deepest valleys and on the highest mountain tops, God is there (Psalm 139) working things out as only He can.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NIV)
