Expect Miracles

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us …” (Ephesians 3:20 NIV)

God truly does what no one can think of or imagine. All throughout every book in the Bible, and throughout our own lives, God shows that He can do what seems impossible.

One such instance is detailed in Judges 7 about Gideon and his army of 300. In this story, not only did God tell Gideon that he would be successful in the battle soon to come, but then God whittled Gideon’s army down from 32,000 soldiers to 300 soldiers. Now, fighting with an army of 300 seems like a losing battle, but knowing that God already told Gideon they would be victorious leads me to believe something spectacular is going to happen.

In my human mind, I would think that Gideon’s army would gain super powers or maybe they would grow in stature tremendously and just crush the opposing army. But, God being God, He had something even better in store. God actually turned the other army against themselves and they started fighting each other. All Gideon had to do was lean on His faith and do what God called him to do.

This powerful, loving, awe-inspiring God is who we pray to, who we get to worship and who we call Father. Today, let’s expect miracles, let’s expect the impossible in our lives. 

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” (Matthew 19:26 NIV)
