If 2021 has taught me anything it’s that trouble truly doesn’t last always. God will always come through for us, and each year I understand this more deeply. 

“I was young and now I am old,

    yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken

    or their children begging bread.”

Psalm 37:25 NIV

If you’re going into this new year with unanswered prayers, in a state of hopelessness or feeling bouts of anxiety, know that God will see you through this hard time. Once you’re on the other side of this temporary storm, there will be something to learn from it. 

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

James 1:2-4 NIV

Remember God never changes. He is the same God in the good times as He is in the bad times (Hebrews 13:8).

This year, let’s resolve to rejoice regardless of the situation, even when we don’t feel like it, even if it hurts.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
