Sin Doesn’t Disqualify Us
Whenever I feel that God is calling me to do something, I get nervous. I think about how unfit I am, how I’m not as knowledgeable as I can be, how I sin, etc. One day as I was wrestling with these fears, I thought, well, even if all these things are true, that doesn’t negate the fact that God still calls me to do His will.
Despite everything I do wrong, God sees me for who I am and still chooses to love me. He’s not blind to my sins and shortcomings. Instead, even in the face of my faults, He shows me that He still loves me and will always love me.
And the same goes for you.
Because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, God forgives us. Our sin doesn’t disqualify us from being close to God, hearing His voice, being forgiven, experiencing miracles, and living out our dreams.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 NIV
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus …
Romans 8:1 NIV
If you feel God calling you to do something – despite how unfit, sinful or unwise you think you are – do it anyway. He’s right there with you, equipping you along the way.
… In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39 NIV
