A Heart of Gratitude

I used to think when Jesus comes back for us, and we see Him at our appointed judgment time, I would say sorry and hope that would be good enough for a heavenly entrance. But, there is something about freedom in Christ that gives me doubtless entrance into heaven, and now I can’t wait to just thank Him face to face.

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV)

Sorry could never do justice to every sin I have committed against Him, but thank you seems to sum up my earthly life. Thank you for saving my soul. Thank you for never leaving my side. Thank you for keeping me as I walked through the valley of a shadow of death. Thank you for protecting me from my own thoughts. Thank you for bringing me through when confusion was all I knew. Thank you for strengthening me when I had no strength left. Thank you for being everything I needed. Thank you that what I believe, I see clearly with my own two eyes. Then, I’d probably pass out from excitement.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8 NKJV)

I hope when that day comes we won’t be worried about all the apologies we should have said in repentance when it happened. But, finally being able to say thank you in person, or maybe I love you. Whatever the case, I’m ecstatic that heaven with my lord and savior is my undeniable fate.

Heaven can be your fate too. If you desire to have a relationship with God, don’t go another second without Him. Take a moment to pray this simple prayer to accept Jesus into your life. Jesus, I understand that I am a sinner in need of a savior. You said in the Bible that anyone who calls on Your name will be saved, and Jesus I am calling on You and only You. Jesus, I accept You as my personal lord and savior and understand that it is only through You that I can live eternally. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and make known to me the will you have for my life. Help me to understand You in a way that is specific to me. Make yourself known in my life. In your son Jesus name, I pray. Thank you. Amen.
