Overwhelmed by the Bible?

Reading the Bible can be overwhelming, especially when we use it as a mirror for our lives. There is so much to work on, so much to do, so much not to do, so much forgiveness to ask for, so much forgiveness to give.

But, one thing is for certain. As we love God with all our hearts, our minds, our souls, our strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves, we will continually be on the right track.

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.’” (Mark 12:30-31 NIV)

As we continuously master these two verses of scripture, the pressure of always doing the right thing perfectly will subside, and what will be left is love. And remember, God is always with us showing us and teaching us how to love.

“We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19 NIV)
