When We Need a Reset

Some days I feel like I need a total reset in my life. I feel like a reset is needed when I’m unproductive, or when I’ve been spending increasingly more time scrolling mindlessly through social media, or when it’s obvious I’m not present during conversations, or I’m more argumentative, or just overall not feeling like myself. When I sit back and think about why I’m feeling this way, I realize it’s almost always when I’ve neglected undistracted time with God.

For me, my relationship with God is the foundation of my entire life. Because my life is rooted in Christ, when I neglect time with Him, it’s evident.

I’ve once heard that the easiest way to drift away from God is to do nothing. So, if you need to reset or refocus, I want to encourage you to do something today. Spend time with God in your favorite way. Worship Him, pray to Him, mediate on scripture, write in your journal and in these moments listen for His voice. Above all, I pray that both you and I would be even more consistent and intentional about spending time with God everyday.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)
