Rebound Time

If anything is certain, it’s that life will always be unpredictable. Unfortunately, there is no map to where life will take us, nor is there a dictionary that will define every puzzling part of our lives. All this uncertainty can inevitably cause fear, anxiety and doubt to creep into our minds. But, when these feelings come up, how quickly do we recognize them, and run to God in prayer and His word?

I know going to God first in response to pain is easier said than done. But, the more we see God as the only constant (Hebrews 13:8), the quicker our rebound time will become. The more we meditate on the word, the more we pray, the more we worship, the more we seek wise counselors, the quicker we will snap out of the anxiety, comparison and fear that grips us. We cannot afford to spend days wallowing in these detrimental thoughts.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Philippians 4:8 NKJV

The quicker we remember that God is always with us, and His plans are bigger and better than anything we could ever think or imagine, the more peace we will truly have in any situation or season. 

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
