Praying and Worshiping Through Worry
In our world today, there is so much to worry about – mass shootings, natural disasters, famines, diseases, wars and political divides. This along with our own struggles and internal stressors, can be a lot to take in at any given moment.
But, when we get overwhelmed with life, who or what do we run to for comfort? Who or what do we go to for answers? Who or what eases our worries?
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalms 18:2 NIV
God is our solid rock who we can run to for comfort, answers and peace in times of trouble and confusion. He is our refuge (Psalm 91), and we can go to Him in prayer, in praise and in worship during the best and the worst days. God can handle our worry, He can handle our fears, and He can handle our questions.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Today, if you’re feeling anxious or worried about the current state of our world or in your life, I want to encourage you to spend time with God.
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
