Victory Never Stops

Recently, as I looked through my notes to prepare for the weekly upload on this blog, I ran across this #oldiebutgoodie post I never shared... The NFL tops the list for my favorite games to watch. This year, while watching the Super Bowl LI, I had no stock in either the New England Patriots or... Continue Reading →

Love Yourself

The Nikao Collection

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12 NIV)

“The most important one (commandment),” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”(Mark 12:30-31 NIV)

These verses of scripture were taken and applied to what we know as the Golden Rule. It commands us to treat everyone the way we want to be treated by loving our neighbors as we would ourselves. The part I enjoy about these scriptures is the assumption we know how to love ourselves and therefore we know how to love others. It…

Clear the Fog

There are always decisions to be made – going or staying, spending or saving, harboring or letting go. To make correct decisions, we can make all the pros and cons lists in the world, ask everyone for their opinion and sleep on it for many nights, but when it comes down to it, we must... A Transformed Life

Moving Mountains

We can scroll our news feeds, watch the news or take an intrinsic look at our own lives and witness how God turns tragedy into triumph in ways only He can. “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,... An Unshakable Foundation

Before a building is built, the soil must be packed with a strong material like concrete to make the ground sturdy enough to hold its structure. The higher the building, the deeper the foundation. Without this step, the building will collapse. Likewise, we need God to pack our deepest fears, doubts, flaws and insecurities, in... Continue Reading →

Lies Will Come

If you're anything like me, you may think you're too strong, too wise, too rooted in Christ for the devil to get into your head with lies. But, the truth is, no matter what height we think we’ve reached in Christ, the devil will always be a liar who is trying to destroy us at... Continue Reading →

Inevitable Trials

One thing this life guarantees us is trials. No matter our age, social class or race, trials will impact and connect us. Tragedy and hardships are written in the plan for us. But, so is perseverance. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that... Continue Reading →

The Necessity of Forgiveness

A few years ago, I settled in my heart to forgive someone I hated for about ten years. After years of thinking I had finally forgiven, I soon realized I still harbored hate for a person who was and is one of the most important people in my life. Unforgiveness proved to be a terrible...
